Highlights: Fanrel travels through Norcrofts

Riders of Rohan is an expansion that many take for granted. Personally, I barely remember much of it myself. They take what they learned from Isengard and Great River and push the abilities of the game to a new limit. Even from the first few quests in the Wold, you can tell that they did a nice job with their new phasing techniques. It definitely compliments what was happening to Théoden people that really wasn't shown in the movies. I am constantly surprised by the new voicework, although most of that is usually seen in the epic wherever you may go. Norcrofts might not have the theatrics of the Wold but it certainly has its fair share of mysteries and adventures.
The victory over the forces in Floodwend had the men celebrating. One such man, Elfsige, boasted of challenging people to an archery contest using the new bow he found from a dead Orc. The problem? It was Corudan's bow! Perhaps he was afraid to challenge me to an archery contest since when I confronted him the man suddenly thought up a much more difficult wager for me. If we could beat him to a friendly race to Elthengels, we could have the bow back. With the... More

Riders of Rohan was a very strange expansion. I bought the expansion for $40 when it first came out. Then I saw the backlash of it being offered for 4250 Turbine points after the grace period. Nowadays? 1495 lp for the instance cluster, 1495 lp for the quest pack, or 2495 lp for all of it. I'm not quite sure where the mounted steeds fall. You can obtain medium steeds by default but everyone agrees that it is the heavy or the light steeds where the real fun is. The pre-purchase equipment of Isengard can't technically be bought, but you can use 295 lp for any of the hooded versions of the three cloaks if you want to be more akin to the Rohan expansion.
Lore. As mentioned in my previous post, the epic quests first take you to the East Wall. Then you backtrack to the Wold. Then after completing the expansion, it jumps north into Wildermore and then into West Rohan. The lore states that Rohan’s northernmost border march, the Wold is all but cut off from the capital at Edoras but its men are no less loyal for it. Beset on all sides by enemies, Orcs massing to the west and Easterlings crossing the Anduin to the east, the Rohirrim of the... More

When we last saw our heroes, they were chasing down some leads in The Great River. Volume III Book 6 showed off some vivid dreams and a lead to the Brown Lands. A Rohirrim warrior by the name of Edbrit brought Nona and I over to something dreadful. There was the dead remains of a massive beast. However he also noticed some riding gear but no rider. We retraced our steps to see if we could figure out this mystery.
It wasn't until we met Limthir by the Great River who actually identifies the shadowed figure as Nazgûl. I deduced that the dream I experienced was actually a premonition. Legolas must have shot down the winged beast. The rider must have immediately fell off somewhere north of Thinglad. The ringwraith must have continued its search for the... More

Yule Festival Encore: Ran through these couple weeks. There wasn't much left for me to do for the festival. I grabbed a couple of sacks and went on my merry way.
Sunday February 25th: Inn of the Forsaken Challenge. This might have taken a couple more hours to complete but it was very informative. Erestandir stated that it was his first time going through the challenge. There were a couple things to note in this run.
